Essential oils with contact insecticidal activity and encapsulation methods: a literature review

Due to the increasing resistance of pests chemical insecticides and negative consequences arising from use chemicals, such as environmental contamination health hazards, alternative methods control need be studied. In nature, essential oils play an important role in protecting plants antibacterials, antivirals, antifungals, insecticides, also against herbivores by reducing their appetite for plants. Secondary metabolites produced medicinal or aromatic have capacity behavioral modification, growth feeding reduction, besides exerting toxic sterility effects on insects considered pests, thus being a strategy, products available market. Thus, present review aimed elucidate various grain exploring bioactive compounds addressing main encapsulation proper storage these oils.
